AC refrigerant recharge (Freon)

Refrigerant carries heat through the AC cooling circuit. A recharge concerns the type and charge required by your particular equipment, rather than a routine addition of a universal product whenever the air feels less cool.

Cooling concerns to describe

  • Cooling performance has noticeably changed.
  • A previous assessment points to a charge concern.
  • An equipment issue has prompted a refrigerant review.
  • You want an explanation of a proposed recharge.

How we approach a refrigerant request

  1. Understand the cooling change

We listen to what you have noticed and identify the unit involved. Poor cooling alone does not establish a need to add refrigerant.

  2. Review the equipment requirements

The system determines the refrigerant type and charge requirements. We do not select a product simply because it is commonly called Freon.

  3. Identify why an adjustment is proposed

We distinguish the charge concern from a leak, component fault or other issue that may need its own work.

  4. Agree on the recharge scope

If a charge adjustment is appropriate, the proposal identifies that task. Leak repairs and component replacement are explained separately.

  5. Explain the completed task and findings

We document the visible equipment and describe the work carried out, including any concern outside the accepted recharge proposal.

Charge adjustment and repairs are different services

A recharge proposal describes the work for the particular cooling circuit. Matching the refrigerant and charge to the equipment can help it operate as intended; it is not a promise to resolve every cause of poor cooling.

Refrigerant recharge is quoted separately after we see your system. A leak, damaged component, dirty coil or blower concern is a separate assessment and scope. We explain the relationship between those findings instead of treating recharge as a general repair for the whole unit.

Preparing for the refrigerant discussion

Share the AC model if you already know it, along with the cooling change and any earlier service information. You do not need to identify a refrigerant yourself or open the unit. We explain the equipment-specific proposal and any additional finding before work is agreed.

Recharge questions

Is Freon one product that works in every AC?

No. The name is often used loosely when discussing refrigerant. The equipment requirements determine the appropriate type, and different refrigerants should not be treated as interchangeable.

Does adding refrigerant repair a leak?

No. A charge adjustment and repairing the source of a loss are different tasks. We explain a leak-related finding and any separate repair proposal instead of presenting recharge as the repair itself.
