Coil Cleaning

The cooling coil is a heat-transfer surface inside your air-conditioning system. Dirt on its closely spaced surfaces can interfere with air passing through it, so we assess the coil, its condition and the access before proposing cleaning.

Signs that may point toward coil attention

  • Deposits visible on reachable coil surfaces.
  • Airflow that seems weaker than before.
  • Cooling performance that has changed.
  • A coil concern identified during an earlier visit.

Our coil-cleaning approach

  1. Identify the affected coil

We establish which coil you mean and whether it is inside or outside the equipment. These locations have different access needs.

  2. Look at the condition

We review visible deposits and surrounding components. Poor cooling by itself does not prove that the coil is dirty.

  3. Agree on access and scope

We explain the surfaces that can be reached and any access work proposed before deciding how the cleaning will proceed.

  4. Use an appropriate cleaning approach

The material and condition guide the work. The coil’s delicate surfaces require a different approach from brushing a duct passage.

  5. Review the visible result

We document the area before and after the work and describe any remaining deposit, damage or separate concern.

What a coil-cleaning quote covers

The proposal names the coil and the cleaning areas included. Removing deposits can help air pass through the accessible surfaces, but we do not promise that cleaning will resolve every cooling or airflow issue.

Coil cleaning is quoted separately after we see your system. Work on the blower, drain, refrigerant circuit or damaged parts is a different scope. The NIKRO vacuum used for our basic duct service is not a description of how every coil is cleaned.

Preparing for the coil visit

Tell us what you have noticed and where the equipment is located. Leave covers and internal parts for the technician to handle. During the visit, we explain access, the proposed cleaning and the visible findings so you understand which area has been serviced.

Coil questions we can discuss

Is the indoor coil the same as the outdoor condenser coil?

They are different parts of the cooling system. The location, design and surrounding equipment affect access and the work involved, so we identify the particular coil in your quote.

Can you decide a coil needs cleaning from weak cooling alone?

No. Cooling can change for several reasons. We look at the coil and the concern you describe before recommending cleaning, rather than assuming deposits are the cause.
