Air Duct / SERVICE TOPIC

Disinfectant DuctWork

Disinfectant treatment applies a selected product inside the ductwork after cleaning. It is different from collecting dust and debris, and the product’s intended use and the duct material guide whether an application is suitable.

Reasons to discuss surface treatment

  • A surface concern identified during a duct assessment.
  • A question about treatment after deposits are removed.
  • A recurring odor that needs its source assessed.
  • Moisture or apparent growth requiring closer evaluation.

How treatment follows the cleaning work

  1. Review the concern and material

We look at the area you are concerned about. An odor or appearance alone does not establish what treatment is needed.

  2. Explain the proposed application

We discuss the selected product, its labeled use, the duct material and the surfaces included before treatment is agreed.

  3. Remove accessible deposits first

Cleaning comes before the spray application. Our basic duct service collects loose dust and debris with the NIKRO vacuum.

  4. Apply the agreed treatment

After cleaning, we spray the disinfectant inside the agreed duct areas using a fogging machine, following the product’s application instructions.

  5. Describe the treated scope

We photograph the visible areas and explain where the work reached, along with concerns that require another task.

Cleaning and disinfectant application have different roles

The treatment proposal identifies the product application and duct areas involved. Matching an application to its intended surfaces can help avoid treating every duct material as though it were the same.

Disinfectant treatment is quoted separately after we see your system. Basic duct cleaning is $199 per AC unit and includes accessible vacuum collection, an AC-area visual check and a free visual mold inspection without laboratory testing. Treatment does not repair a leak or damaged duct.

What to expect before an application

Tell us where you noticed the concern and any previous treatment you know about. We explain the cleaning and the proposed product application before proceeding. You can distinguish the deposits removed from the areas treated, rather than assume that spraying replaces the cleaning step.

Treatment-specific questions

Can the fogging step replace removing dust?

No. Applying a product is a different task from collecting deposits. We clean the accessible duct areas before the agreed disinfectant application instead of describing spray as a substitute for cleaning.

Does surface treatment correct the source of moisture?

No. A water source or damaged material needs its own assessment. We keep that concern separate from a product application and do not promise that treatment will resolve it.
