Planom Box Deep Cleaning

The plenum box is a chamber connecting the air-handling equipment with the ductwork. Cleaning this box focuses on its accessible interior, rather than assuming that every connected duct or AC component is part of the same job.

Reasons to have the box looked at

  • Visible loose dust or debris inside an accessible box.
  • Deposits around its reachable connections.
  • A material or lining concern noticed during inspection.
  • A buildup finding that needs a clearly defined cleaning area.

How we approach plenum-box cleaning

  1. Identify the box and its role

We establish which chamber belongs to the unit being discussed and how it joins the surrounding ductwork.

  2. Review the interior condition

We look at reachable deposits, the box material and any lining. A lined box may need different care from bare metal.

  3. Set the cleaning scope

We explain the surfaces and connections that can be reached, along with any access needed before cleaning starts.

  4. Collect accessible material

The cleaning approach follows the material and condition. The aim is to remove reachable loose buildup without treating every construction the same way.

  5. Document what changed

We photograph the area before and after work, explain what was cleaned and identify visible concerns requiring another task.

The box and its connected parts have separate boundaries

The proposal identifies the plenum box and accessible interior surfaces involved. Cleaning that chamber can help remove deposits from the agreed area. It does not automatically include every supply branch, return passage, blower or coil.

Plenum-box cleaning is quoted separately after we see your system. Damage to the box, deteriorated lining, duct repairs and replacement need their own assessment and proposal. We distinguish removing deposits from repairing the material that contains them.

What to expect when we arrive

Show us the AC unit location and describe the buildup or concern you have noticed. Leave covers and inaccessible sections for the technician. We explain the cleaning boundary and any access limitations, then show photographs of the areas reached during the work.

Questions about the plenum chamber

Is cleaning the plenum the same as cleaning all my ducts?

No. The plenum is a chamber connecting to other parts of the air system. A quote should identify the chamber being cleaned and whether any connected passages are included.

What if the inside lining is damaged?

Cleaning loose deposits does not restore deteriorated lining. We review the visible material condition and explain whether a separate repair or replacement discussion is appropriate.
